Jacobstow Community Primary School & Preschool

CARES  about preparing our children for their place in  the world of the future

Thank you for your interest in our school.  Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision.  We hope that the information provided here will help you.  You are most welcome to visit us and we invite you to make an appointment to do so.

Jacobstow Community Primary School and Preschool caters for children from 2 to 11 years.  We have 3 mixed aged classes and a preschool.

Our Early Years provision offers children the very best start to their education in a happy, exciting & friendly setting.

Our Preschool caters for children aged 2 to rising 5 years who are in receipt of nursery grant funding. Parents can use their nursery funding and pay for any additional hours.

We  provide a caring and inspiring early learning environment with in a self contained building with independent outside play area.

Jacobstow Community Primary School is the local school for Jacobstow village, as well as Poundstock, Widemouth, St Gennys and Week St Mary.  We try to maintain strong community links with all our four parishes.

The school is part of the Bude Communites' Schools' Trust, a rural cooperative education partnership.

The building provides light, comfortable surroundings in which to learn.  The school grounds are extensive and are enhanced by the school's rural setting. They include sports facilities, a range of play areas, a wildlife garden, a large sports field and attractive gardens.  We are very fortunate in being able to offer to children such an attractive environment in which to learn and use it to deliver Outdoor Learning activities to all children across the school.

We invite parents to visit us on formal and informal occasions throughout the year to see the work of the school, and the Friends of Jacobstow School organise a calendar of fund-raising events.  In addition, weekly newsletters give up-to-date information about all that is happening in school.

We are all very proud of our school.  We aim to provide a broad and balanced education, which will allow children to develop their individual personalities and to become confident in their own abilities.  Within our secure and caring atmosphere we foster concern for the welfare of others.

Our dedicated and highly qualified staff are committed to raising educational standards and to safegaurding our children. Above all we want every child to be happy and to achieve their full potential during their time at Jacobstow School; we are a  good school where every child matters.
